What is all required to have as far as permits go?

BWCA permit for the entry point you are going in to. A fishing license if you are going to fish. Boat registration. If you are from outside of Minnesota, your state's registration is all that is needed as long as it is current.

That's a tricky one. First of all, it depends on which route you want to go on. Some of the popular ones are already filled. Other, less popular ones will never fill.

If you know where you would like to go, I'd reserve as soon as possible if one is open.
