WTIP Presents History Speaks: The Boundary Waters

Postby WTIP Admin » Thu May 30, 2013 10:10 am

Tune in to WTIP tonight at 7 pm for a rebroadcast of “The Boundary Waters” the most recent edition in WTIP’s History Speaks series.

Today, more than 200,000 people visit the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness each year. This unique, natural area is widely appreciated, but in the time leading up to the passage of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness Act, the Boundary Waters were the subject of contentious debate. This piece is a reflection on the impact this quiet wilderness area had on residents and visitors alike in the years before the BWCAW Act passed.

That’s tonight at 7 pm, on WTIP, North Shore Community Radio.

WTIP is broadcasting at:

90.7 fm WTIP North Shore
90.1 fm WGPO Grand Portage
89.1 fm WKEK Gunflint Trail

And on the web at www.wtip.org
