Rules:
- Everyone is welcome to participate, amateur or professional.
Photos do not need to be taken within the BWCA, but must be of wildflowers that do grow in the Boundary Waters (Look through books by Lorraine Anderson, Betty Vos Hemstad, or Clayton & Michele Oslund)
Photo must have been taken by the individual who posts it (you can have help posting your images though).
Photos may be from any year.
You may submit up to ten images each month.
Photos can be uploaded to the board (preferred method), or they may be hosted on your own server or hosting service (such as photobucket)
Submissions will be accepted through September 30th, 2009.
Photographers retain the rights to their photographs.
It would be great if you can share as much information as you can about the photo.
Prize:
Receive a 1 lb sack of Midwest Proven Wildflowers courtesy of American Meadows.
This premium mixture features our famous native prairie wildflowers, and has been used by homeowners and commercial planters all over the midwest for almost 20 years. Expect a burst of annual color just a few weeks after seeding, plus increased bloom year after year from a great group of perennials. Plant spring or late fall. This mixture contains 31 wildflowers, 14 annuals for first-year color, plus 17 perennials or biennials for second and successive years' bloom.
Judging:
The wildflower photography contest will be judged by Bruce Selyem. Bruce is professional photographer out of Bozeman, Montana. He is known for is wildflower photography (including the BWCA), and his name is synonymous for photography of "Prairie Cathedrals", or grain elevators. His work has been featured in magazines, newspapers, books, and calendars.
