Re: Cascade / Norpine Trails

Caller and her dog met a large dog(90lb)multi brown coloring, wavy back, wearing faded collar in the Deeryard parking lot area. He was in good condition, aloof with her, o.k. with her dog. It was about 2;30 this afternoon. He followed them and would run off and come back. There are a few houses in t...

Re: Lac la Croix

Hi, I am going ice fishing to Lac La Croix and was wondering if you can you can use electric powered augers or can you only use had powered ones? I know you can't use gas powered ones, but what about the electric ones?

Re: Grey Wolf Delisting and Hunting

Honestly I am pretty sick of the wolf issue. The wolves need to be managed and the hunting and trapping will accomplish that. Most people in the wolf zone couldn't care less about all the city-based people crying about it. They make a lot noise but it the end all their complaining will result in not...

Most people on the Range couldn't care less about all the city-based people crying about it. They make a lot noise but it the end all their complaining will result in nothing. Re: Favorite Campsite

The problem is I don't have one favorite campsite...My favorite campsite is the one I am on at the time or the last one I was on if I'm no longer there.

Favorite Campsite

I'm learning that asking anyone what their favorite campsite is in the BWCA is like asking a fisherman where the best spot to catch walleye is on their favorite lake -- they simply refuse to tell you.

Re: Denver Man Dies Cliff Jumping in BWCA

Why do some people have to write about every *** thing they see on the internet? The article didn't say how he died and it also stated it's a popular lake for cliff diving. So if you're going to say anything at all, why not just, "Wow. Sorry to hear."

Re: Moose River

Yes, I took that route in September 2011 (height of the drought when the fire was going in the east part of the BWCA). Nina Moose River is a slog when the water levels are low between entry point 16 and Lake Agnes. Lots of beaver dams as well. North of Lake Agnes, the going is a little easier with o...

Re: Rowing in the BWCA?

I am inquiring about rowing in the bwca. Specifically, is the ez-row system (ez-row.com) allowed in a canoe?

Thanks for your reply.

Re: Moose Survey

A little too late to save the Moose if you ask me - also - what about all the people up north who hunt illegally - time to start campaign for Turn in Poachers to turn these people in who have been getting away with it for years - Who sees them in the woods - they take deer, moose etc all year long. ...

Re: Moose Survey

I agree notforward. What an amazing coincidence that the decline of the moose coincides with the introduction of the wolf. Moose are not that bright and are easy picking for wolves.

Re: Moose Survey

The DNR is unbelievably HORRIBLE at managing our fish and wildlife. How did they not see this coming and take action sooner. I am sure they have their standard answers/excuses. Mild winters this past year must have helped their population. Just how many Moose have been killed by hunters the past sev...
